DMEK™ from e.janach

DMEK™ is the latest accomplishment in deep lamellar surgery. Thanks to the valuable collaboration started with Dr. R. Fogla, the e.janach R & D department has been among the first developers of an innovative suction system for this fascinating procedure. A new project, based on a similar system, developed with the scientific collaboration of the Mestre Eye Bank, has given birth to a new concept of donor punch with particular features that facilitate lenticle preparation in Eye Banks.

This new system, based of the same concept of the DMEK™ kit presented in 2013, improves and facilitates the capture of the lenticle previously ” stripped ” and soaked in a container . The small cone, applied on the cartridge, allows to convey more easily the rolled lenticle inside the cartridge. Once the lenticle is correctly positioned inside the cartridge, the cone must be removed and the system will be ready for an easier injection of the roll through a small corneal incision. The kit includes Syringe, metal adapter, cartridge and suction cone.
